Early Christians followed the ancient tradition of viewing sunset as the end of one day and the start of the next. Consequently, Easter begins at sunset on Holy Saturday. The Great Vigil, held just after sunset, is the first service of Easter.
Join us as we begin worship around a fire in the courtyard celebrating Christ as the light of the world. We will then move into the sanctuary for the service of readings and music from around the world. Finally, we emerge from the church to gather on the lawn under the stars as we celebrate that we are both the baptized and the baptizing community called by God to be the body of Christ in the world.
