Worship

The Fondren Presbyterian congregation worships each Sunday at 11:00 a.m. The morning worship service combines traditional and eclectic elements and includes the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. Members of all ages participate in the liturgy and all are welcome at the Lord’s table. Fondren’s morning worship includes music of all genres, from classical literature to spirituals to contemporary. The church adopted the Presbyterian hymnal, Glory to God, in 2015 and follows general guidelines from the PC(USA) Book of Common Worship. The Spirit speaks through music as an expression of God’s word and songs from around the world are woven into our shared worship life.

Fondren celebrates the liturgical seasons of Lent, Advent, and Pentecost, Christmas and Easter, as well as other significant days in the church calendar with special services throughout the year. Learn more about our opportunities for worship and study here.

Mission

Fondren’s members believe that the global church is uniquely situated to serve its community and our congregation is no exception. We read with elementary students, dedicate time, resources, and energy to Stewpot Community Services, support Meals on Wheels, build Habitat for Humanity houses, organize with Working Together Jackson, install fresh water systems in Haiti, and more.
