Tenebrae (Latin for “darkness”) is the name traditionally given to the solemn service of worship on Good Friday. Recalling the events leading up to and during the crucifixion of Christ, worshipers are invited to hear the words, experience times of silence, and reflect on the powerful love demonstrated for the world in the life, death, and resurrection of Christ.
This service is held in semi-darkness and includes extended periods of silence for personal reflection.
