2023 Stewardship Campaign Kickoff

Dear Fondren Presbyterian Church Family and Friends,

There are many ways to tell a story.

How do you tell the story of the church budget? So often the story of a church budget is told through the allocations to the various church committees. But the church is the “Body of Christ” (Romans 12:5, 1 Corinthians 12:12). Body parts all work together.

At Fondren Presbyterian Church, we tell our story through Micah 6:8. Everything that happens in and through the church facilities and activities are connected:

  • The cost of heating and air conditioning is part of the worship experience.

  • Preparing a meal for Stewpot Sunday or Meals on Wheels requires adequate facilities.

  • The ministry of each church member builds a stronger church community.

Last fall the committees of the church were asked to describe what they do as part of the ministry and mission of Jesus Christ through a Ministry Action Plan (MAP). The Finance Committee studied these MAPs and compared them to the 2022 line item budget of the church.  Based on this review, the accompanying brochure has been created.

For 2023, we want to look to the future, and revitalize our budget by telling Fondren’s story of: Doing Justice,  Loving Kindness, and Walking Humbly with God.

Please consider how you will make an offering of your talents and resources in the coming year as you live out your own faith in God. Your response will determine how we are able to proceed.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact either of us.
